"Voice from the Deep" or "See Here, Sea Hag" is a 1960 episode of Popeye the Sailor.
Plot
Popeye is taking a shower, until he receives a distress call from Phony Island on the phone. He gets dressed and is then picked up by a pilot. He is given a parachute to use to land on Phony Island, but fails to realize he is wearing one until it is too late. After landing, he meets Chief Knucklebone who is alone on the island without his tribe. When Popeye asks what made the Chief's people leave, the latter answers that the volcano told them so. Popeye laughs hysterically at the idea of a talking volcano, until he hears a very loud, evil cackle. The sailor then goes to investigate the so-called "talking volcano".
Meanwhile, the Sea Hag contemplates how well her latest evil plot is going: chasing the islanders away and turning Phony Island into a hideout for villains. She then notices that Popeye is investigating the volcano and sends Bernard to attack. The vulture rolls a big boulder in Popeye's way, but a palm tree bounces him right back. Now Popeye deploys his parachute to safely land inside the extinct volcano. As the parachute engulfs Popeye, the Sea Hag hits him on the head with a mallet to knock him out. Leaving the volcano, she seals up the entrance to trap Popeye inside, however, the sailor finds a small vent of natural hot air, inflates his parachute into a makeshift balloon to float out of the volcano, and lands back outside. Then he hears Chief Knucklebone's cries for help as the leader of the islanders is captured by the Sea Hag. Popeye finds a garden patch of genuine island spinach and eats some to gain the strength to rescue the Chief and stop the sorceress. Popeye forces the Sea Hag to call the islanders back, which makes the Chief happy.
As the people of Phony Island rejoice and have a celebratory feast with Popeye as their special guest, the Sea Hag and Bernard wash the dishes as punishment.
