Sea Hag's island

The Sea Hag's Island is a haunted rocky island where the Sea Hag lives with her pet vulture Bernard.

Background[]

The Sea Hag's Island first appeared onscreen in the 1960 Popeye the Sailor episode "Blinkin Beacon", as a skull-shaped sea rock with three dry trees; in some episodes, it keeps this form, but with a path going to the entrance to the witch's lair. In other instances (and other media such as comics) her residence has been portrayed as a creepy house or a castle.

In the later episode "Which Is Witch", the island appears as a rocky island with the Hag's head carved. The island has a beach and a dungeon.

In the episode "Tooth Be or Not Tooth Be", it appears as a volcanic island. It also has a beach around it and a palm tree.

In the 1994 video game Popeye: Ijiwaru Majo Seahag no Maki, it is a large island with a castle at its center, known as "Sea Hag's Hide-Out Number 412" (the fifth and final main area of the game).
