The Game

A terrible storm is raging and Popeye is tying Olive to the ship's mast, but it is too late. Popeye and Olive soon wash up on an island.

They trek across the island, which they learn is called Paradise Island, until they come to a house owned by Bluto, who invites them to dinner. Popeye quickly realizes that something sinister is afoot.

After dinner, Bluto shows the couple his collection of captured animals. He even shows them an empty cage, which is reserved for one prize in particular. The animals in question are Popeye and Olive, as he is hunting for a pair of humans for his collection.

Bluto sends them off on a big chase in the jungle, with himself as the hunter, and the mighty sailor and his girlfriend as the hunted. He first sends his dogs after them, but Popeye's rabbit scares them off . Bluto then tries using a net, but Popeye flings it back to him. Bluto then traps them in a cage disguised as a hut, but Popeye and Olive escape by adding a zipper to the floor. They then find a boat, board it and sail away. However, Bluto is not far away, and before they can sail any further, he catches them with his submarine.

Bluto's collection is now complete, but he now wonders what to do next, as there is nothing left to catch. He does however keep Popeye and Olive occupied by feeding them. Olive quickly rejects what Bluto is feeding them, but Popeye senses the stuff looks familiar, because it is spinach. When Bluto realizes that he made a big mistake, it is too late, for Popeye eats up the vegetable, grows Tarzan-like and subdues Bluto. With the big man now trapped in a cage and all the animals free, Popeye and Olive sail home in Bluto's submarine.
