Plot

Popeye reads Swee' Pea a Japanese fairy tale. Popeye, Wimpy, Olive and Brutus all appear as characters.

Trivia

• The title of the episode is a pun on Sayonara, meaning "goodbye" in Japanese.
• The sword that Popeye wields is actually a pirate cutlass, despite him being portrayed as a samurai in the fairy tale.
• The clothing that Brutus and Wimpy wear are Tangzhuang, or simply called Tang suit, which is a traditional Chinese outfit.
