This comic book issue is from Popeye, the original series published by Dell in 1948. The series was later renamed to Popeye the Sailor as it continued with other publishers. It was reprinted in the Classic Popeye series published by IDW in 2012 and the Popeye Classics series published by IDW in 2013.

Synopsis
As Swee'Pea is walking to Olive's house encounter all kinds of dangers like falling safes, gorillas and even hypnotists. Professor H. J. Doze asks Swee'Pea in to help his class with their assignment. All three students give Swee'Pea an action and a command word. Before they can finish, however, Swee'Pea leaves.
Every time someone says a command word Swee'Pea goes into a hypnotic trance. Swee'Pea leads Popeye and Wimpy all over town before they find the Professor to snap him out of it.

Synopsis
While Popeye is out of town, he asks Wimpy and Olive Oyl to keep his Pappy out of trouble. But Pappy talks them into helping him with his get rich quick scheme. Pappy shaves off his whiskers so he could take one of Popeye's prize fights and get the money for himself. However Popeye returns early and wins the cash instead of Pappy.

Synopsis
Swee'Pea picked a fight with a kid for bullying other boys. The kid's father visits Popeye to make sure that he gives Swee'Pea a spanking. Popeye tells him he does not believe in spanking. The father wants to spank Swee'Pea himself so Popeye shows him Swee'Pea room. Swee'Pea gives the man a good beating and sends him home.
