Popairamen was one of many Popeye food tie-ins, unusual in that it was once marketed by Nintendo during its early history, and then only in Japan. The company since has become one of the foremost video game and video game console producers in the world.
"Popairamen" was an instant pasta which came littered with Popeye characters. It was not too successful and was ultimately discontinued. Years later, Nintendo would again acquire a Popeye license, this time to produce an arcade game adaptation as well as other games.
