Olive Oyl and Water Don't Mix (released on May 8, 1942) is the 106th Fleischer Studios Popeye cartoon.
Plot[]
Popeye and Bluto are fellow Navy sailors who agree that women are nothing but trouble and should not be allowed to interfere with their way of life. Soon after they shake hands, Olive Oyl boards the battleship they are stationed in as this is the day when visitors are allowed. Each of the supposed lady-haters vie to welcome her and show her the ship's various features. Popeye folds the ship itself to show Olive the propellers, which Bluto activates to blow the pair away. Then, the thick fellow proceeds to show off one of the ship's cannons, with equally dire results. Olive eventually ends up trapped on the wires high up, with the rivals hitting each other around her. When she lands in a disheveled state beside the powder room, she welcomes the chance to tidy up - of course lighting up the dark room. She survives the resulting explosion, but the two sailors are sent to the brig in their now patched-up state. They reassert the earlier agreement with another handshake, although Popeye must use his foot this time.
