Oids are a humanoid species that catch Goons in order to cut off their hairs and sell them to make pillows. They appear in the "Goon Valley! Thimble Theatre storyline (1972-1973). In the adventure, Popeye comes to Goon Island to catch the hair catchers, but the Oids capture all the Goons of the village. Popeye finds one Oid, but discovers he is rubbery. When he attempts to strike at him, the sailor sees that they are invincible against punches, and even love being hit. However, Wimpy discovers the Oids' biggest weakness: a woman's kiss. Since Olive is the only woman available, she kisses all the Oids, causing the species to become completely extinct.
