Biography[]
Past[]
Many years ago, Lubry Kent went off to explore the vast wilderness of Africa in hopes of making new discoveries. It was during his exploration that he found an egg belonging to the incredibly rare and elusive Whiffle Birds. Knowing that such birds could never be caught, he decided to incubate the egg himself in hopes of possessing his own rare Whiffle Bird. Upon hatching, he named the newborn chick Bernice, and would raise her for some time before taking her to his family's hometown so they could themselves witness the marvel of the Whiffle Bird.
Dice Island[]
After a long absence, Lubry Kent returned home to see the rest of the Oyl family, especially his nephew Castor Oyl. It was then that he presented Bernice to the family and mentioned her rarity and how he had found her, explaining that hatching a Whiffle Bird's egg was the only way to obtain them. To prove his point that Whiffle Birds were impossible to catch, he offered Castor 1000 dollars if he could succeed in killing Bernice. However, Castor proved no match for the sly bird, who seemed to grow fond of the violent Castor as he pursued her. It was then that Uncle Lubry decided to leave Bernice with Castor after she grew attached to his nephew and he went on his way back to Africa. From then on, Bernice stuck by Castor, who eventually grew attached to his new pet as well.
