A re-telling of the Robin Hood legend. The Sheriff of Rottenham (Bluto) is taking all of the townspeople's gold, but he encounters Popeye Hood and his merry men (mainly Wimpy) in the woods, and the Sheriff and his soldiers are promptly beaten. After reading about the heroic bandit's exploits and his returning the people's gold, Maid Olive receives a message inviting her to meet Popeye Hood, however, she instead falls in the Sheriff's trap, and her freedom is the main prize in an archery contest held the next day. The disguised Popeye Hood easily bests the Sheriff at every turn, even as the latter cheats. But when the hero loses his disguise, he must go into action, eating spinach and effecting Maid Olive's rescue. After he gets rid of the Sheriff and his minions, the townsfolk celebrate.
