Synopsis[]

When Uncle Elmo tells his nephew he made it to the Moon before anyone else, John does not give it a second thought. Then, when Uncle Elmo says he flew there in a giant Fourth of July sky rocket, John has many doubts. Of course, the great adventurer explains he quickly fabricated a pressure chamber in the rocket to survive in outer space. He also says he used a mystery fuel to get the thrust to escape the Earth's atmosphere. Then, his story goes downhill from there.

Uncle Elmo continues by saying he landed on the far side of the Moon, which nobody had seen before. There he discovered a marsh to make a soft-landing in. He also discovered green mountains, fresh air, large oceans and fresh water. John has to point out that satellites have taken pictures of that side of the Moon before his Uncle confesses the truth.
