"A Horse of a Flying Color" is an episode from The All-New Popeye Hour's "Popeye's Treasure Hunt" segment for Hanna-Barbera Productions in association with King Features Syndicate.

Plot[]

Popeye & Olive are doing some spring cleaning in their office. As they are cleaning, their vacuum cleaner comes to life and sucks everything up, including Popeye. Soon the telephone rings, Popeye answers and the call tells them to go find a horse that flies. Popeye thought it was a prank phone call, but Olive knew what he meant. So they decide to venture out to go fetch Pegasus, the Flying Horse, but as usual, Bluto listens in, and seek the horse for himself. And he did it by boarding up their entire office. Olive quickly removes the boards before Popeye could ram them down, causing him to rush past Bluto, who would later sink Popeye with his anchor. Olive comes to the rescue with a can of Spinach and they set off together. But Bluto answers back by sinking them both. But Popeye and Olive don't give up that easily as they use a raft to reach their destination.

Soon they all make it to the island of Con-Crete, off the coast Crete where Pegasus is located. Bluto succeeds in slowing down Popeye and derail him and Olive's search by disguising himself as a greek god and putting Popeye through rigorous tasks in the form of Olympic events. And for the icing on the cake, Bluto covers our heroes in cement and creates a temple filled with greek pillars to close them down. But Popeye just grabbed his spinach beforehand, so he eats it and gets him and Olive out of their latest jam. Meanwhile, Bluto finds Pegasus and attempts to escape with it, but Popeye washes Bluto away with the temple and Pegasus flies over to Olive. Shortly after, Popeye throws Bluto and his boat away into the sea. While Popeye and Olive fly away with the flying horse, Bluto travels home in embarrassing style, by seahorse.
