"A Bad Knight for Popeye" is an episode from The All-New Popeye Hour's "The Adventures of Popeye" segment for Hanna-Barbera Productions in association with King Features Syndicate. It first aired on September 30, 1978. The producer was Art Scott and it was directed by George Gordon, Carl Urbano and Rudy Zamora. Popeye was voiced by Jack Mercer, Olive Oyl was voiced by Marilyn Schreffler, Wimpy was voiced by Daws Butler and Bluto was voiced by Allan Melvin.

Plot

A Bad Knight For Popeye-02

It is the Middle Ages, and the Princess (portrayed by Olive Oyl) has been kidnapped by an evil knight. She is being guarded by his dragon. The King (portrayed by Wimpy) makes a proclamation that whomever frees the Princess will have her hand in marriage.

Many try and fail until the Farmer (portrayed by Popeye) tries his hand at saving the Princess. Of course, the Evil Knight (portrayed by Bluto) tangles with Popeye. Bluto challenges Popeye to a jousting match. Popeye wins the tournament and rescues Princess Olive.
